Hourly wage in cleaning increased from 1 July 2025

From 1 July 2025, the hourly wage in the cleaning industry will go up again. This is good news for all cleaning workers in the Netherlands. The increase follows the agreements made in the collective labour agreement for cleaning and is part of the structural commitment to make the profession more attractive and fairly remunerated.

What will change?
The hourly wage for cleaning workers will increase by 1.71% compared to the current wage. For employees in pay scale 1, this means an increase to a gross hourly wage of €14.83. For employees in higher pay scales, such as specialist cleaning or managerial staff, corresponding adjustments apply. This wage increase applies to all employees covered by the collective labour agreement for cleaning and window cleaning companies.

Why this increase?
The cleaning industry plays an essential role in the daily functioning of companies, institutions and public spaces. The CAO parties recognise this and have been working hard to improve working conditions. The increase fits into the broader picture of improving the position of cleaners, stimulating recruitment and retaining professionals in the sector.
