We caught up with our supervisor , to get the inside scoop on what it’s like managing an international team of cleaners. Here's what he had to say about the job, the challenges, and the rewards.

Q: So, what does your job as a supervisor actually involve?

Supervisor: "Well, my main job is to keep everything running smoothly when it comes to cleaning the holiday houses. I work with a great team from different countries, so it’s my job to make sure everyone knows what they’re doing and has everything they need. I do quality checks, and make sure the houses are spotless for the guests and nothing is missing or damaged. It’s a lot of moving parts, but that’s what makes it interesting!"

Q: What’s the most important thing for you in your role?

Supervisor: "Honestly, the key thing is communication. Since our team is from all over, I need to make sure we’re all on the same page. Whether it’s with instructions, schedules, or just making sure we’re doing things the right way, keeping communication clear is so important.

Q: How do you manage a team from so many different cultures?

Supervisor: "It’s definitely an interesting challenge! But it’s also a strength. I make sure everyone feels included and respected. We talk a lot about cultural differences, and I think that helps create a team atmosphere where everyone can thrive. Plus, we do have fun together which makes a big difference."

Q: What’s the hardest part of managing an international team?

Supervisor: "I think the biggest challenge is just making sure everyone understands things the same way, especially with different languages and working styles. But we’ve got a lot of experienced team members that are bilingual and sometimes help me to make sure the message is clear. And, of course, the busy seasons can be tough, especially when we need to get everything done in a short amount of time, but that’s where good attitude and hands-on mentalitty comes in. We always help each other in cases when individual goals are not achieved right away."

Q: How do you make sure the cleaning is always up to scratch?

Supervisor: "I check in regularly to see how things are going. I’m always walking through the houses to make sure everything looks perfect and nothing is missing. If there’s ever something that needs fixing, I give feedback right away and start working on it. The most important thing is consistency and communication, we give feedback to each other and we always get updates from owners about our performance and guest's feedback."

Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?

Supervisor: "To be honest I really enjoy working here especially when its a good weather, atmosphere and nature around here is really relaxing, sometimes after work we also go together to near-by beach to swim and always try to have our lunch outside to enjoy the weather."
